Well, the time has come. We’ve journeyed together for ten pages, and made so many memories along the way. Remember when Marmee read a letter? Remember when Jo laid on the floor? Remember when they ate toast? Yes, yes, wonderful times.
But, alas! Such joys lie alongside pain, dear readers! For the reaper’s scythe has begun to swoop, and at the business end lies the neck of one of the Marches. Without further ado, please say hello and goodbye to the first winner of the Little Women Death Poll:

Robert March, aka Mr. March, aka Captain March, aka “Father.”
Honestly? This is the best it could have gone. Father is a non-factor for most of the book, but he is ENOUGH of a factor that there’s some emotional weight to his (eventual) death. It’ll also be easy for me to work out how soon I want this to impact the narrative. Do the girls find out right away? Or do we continue with the story as normal, and make changes only when Father is supposed to come back into the picture? We’ll find out!
On Monday, you can expect our first Death Interlude, which I plan to do with all the killed characters going forward. Then, on Friday I’ll do an Intro to Chapter 2 - and then we’ll be off to the races!
Here is where I would like reader opinions - for the upcoming Chapter 2 Death Poll, would you want me to:
Start fresh, with characters only being added as they appear in the book
OR
Add to to the ongoing list, so people like Hannah and Aunt March stay on the table
I’m leaning towards #1, but I’d love to hear your thoughts!
Have a wonderful weekend, and I’ll see you on Monday!
